In the latest PED investigation, Packers linebackers Clay Matthews and Julius Peppers met with NFL investigators yesterday, while Steelers linebacker James Harrison and free agent linebacker Mike Neal will meet with them today.

Like father, like son: The last remaining unsigned first-round draft pick is now Joey Bosa, San Diego Chargers defensive end (son of John Bosa, who also held out on his rookie contract with the Dolphins). Apparently their “best offer” wasn’t good enough for him.

On the injury front…

The injury bug is going around the Colts’ cornerbacks room. With Vontae Davis out for possibly the first month of the season with a medial ankle sprain, Patrick Robinson dealing with a groin injury, Darius Butler hampered by a hamstring, and even their backups banged up, it’s no surprise they signed Antonio Cromartie to the squad.

In better news (except if you’re a Steelers fan), Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco is set to play his first game in nine months on Saturday after suffering a knee injury last season.

Will they, won’t they?

Several teams have apparently reached out to the Cleveland Browns to try and tempt them into trading wide receiver Josh Gordon. According to the team, they’re not looking to do so, and Gordon doesn’t want to leave either. Sounds like a non-story, right? Not so fast. ESPN Browns beat reporter Tony Grossi suggests it’s a possibility that the Browns made up the trade rumors themselves to see if anyone would jump, to see if they might be able to get something for him just in case this Johnny Manziel co-conspirator falls down the drug use rabbit hole again. Let’s hope for everyone’s sake that’s not the case.

With liberty and (social) justice for all

Seahawks QB Russell Wilson and singer Ciara were originally supposed to get married in North Carolina, but because of the state’s discriminatory stance toward transgender people, they chose to move their wedding — first to Paris, and then when that didn’t work, to London. Some people may prefer that their athletes stick to sports, but we’re fans of this move. The 2017 NBA All-Star Game just switched locations from Charlotte to New Orleans for the same reason — you listening, North Carolina government?
