Kristin Armstrong Crushed Us + What to Watch in Rio Day 6

This is #momgoals

The award for Olympic Win Felt Around the Web this week goes to 43-year-old American cyclist Kristin Armstrong (no relation to Lance you-know-who). After a race that included a nosebleed and a neck-in-neck battle with Russian cyclist Olga Zabelinskaya — back from a year and a half suspension for testing positive for banned substances — Kristin crossed the finish line, confirmed she won the gold, and collapsed to the ground. The picture of her 5-year-old son congratulating Mom for her third consecutive win (YES, she won gold in Beijing and London before Rio) is what the Olympics is all about. Bonus: She got to eat bday cake with Ryan Seacrest after:

U.S. swimmers continue to bring gold (and silver) to the green pools of Rio. The women’s swim team led by Ledecky (and cheered on by the USA men’s basketball team) won the 4x200m freestyle relay — plus America added another synchronized silver pair, Michael Hixon and Sam Dorman, to our roster of winners.

It’s not swimming or gymnastics but it’s still incredibly epic—Daryl Homer won silver in men’s individual fencing, making it the first medal for the USA in that event in 112 years.
