Bianca Gates is a busy woman. She is a sales executive at Facebook (maybe you’ve heard of them?), working within Global Marketing Solutions there, who piloted one of the first #LeanIn circles. On the side, she’s also co-founder of a stylish slipper company made for the Netflix lover/work from home boss in all of us called Birdies. All that’s awesome, but we know you’re here for the sports… and so is she as a HUGE Oakland A’s fan with a sweet story on her fan roots.

Bianca’s passion for sports began in a house divided, rooting for both Bolivia and Argentina in professional men’s soccer. (Her mom is from Bolivia, and her dad is from Argentina.) Based in the Bay Area now, her love of the game has continued, cheering on the A’s with her husband and two children.

Plus, she has helped to spread the magic of baseball and love for the A’s to her family from Bolivia, bringing them to their first American baseball game this past summer.

You can follow her on Instagram @bvgates, but first—find out why she’s our Favorite Fan of the Week…

FIRST SPORTS MEMORY: Watching Argentina and Bolivia play soccer on TV. My dad is from Argentina and my mom is from Bolivia so we would even wake up in the wee hours of the morning to watch them play in big tournaments like the World Cup!

FAVORITE SPORTS TRADITION WITH FRIENDS/FAM: We are BIG Oakland A’s fans in our home. We have season A’s tickets so we are there quite often and have been going regularly since our oldest child was a baby. :)

FAVORITE SPORTS MOMENT EVER: Watching Argentina play in the 2011 Copa America in Chile. One of my first jobs out of college was as an Account Executive at Univision Television Network in NYC. A few short months after starting my job, I had the opportunity to entertain clients at the Copa America in Chile. Even luckier for me — it was a game that Argentina was playing! The energy in that stadium was electrifying and definitely one of my favorite sports moments ever.

SPORTS FIGURE (LIVING OR DEAD) THAT YOU WOULD NAME YOUR KID/PET AFTER: Coco Crisp

FINALLY, HOW DO YOU TAKE YOUR HOT DOG!? Ketchup, mustard and gotta have that relish!

EXTRA CREDIT: What is your walk-up song?! Firework by Katy Perry. Love her (and that song)!

Ready to tailgate or snuggle up inside with the game on? So are we!
