MLB Update

The Blue Jays absolutely trounced the Rangers on Texas turf with a score of 10–1 in the first game of their AL Divisional Series. The Red Sox and Indians are playing their game right now; tune in!

The Houston Astros had to issue an apology on behalf of one of their minor-leaguers who took issue with Jessica Mendoza broadcasting last night’s Wild Card game just because she’s a woman. He’s probably also disgruntled that the MLB commissioner thinks minor-league players deserve to be paid like “apprentices and artists” — though that latter gripe would actually be legitimate.

NFL Update

Could the NFL be looking to the Canadian Football League for its next rule update? The CFL expanded the definition of which plays can be challenged and/or reviewed, in order to eliminate as much human referee error as possible, and they have a video command center whose bird’s eye view helps with ball spots and players in or out of position. So far, the adjustments seem to be working.
