Cubs clinch, a new era in USA Gymnastics + other must-clicks

The Red Sox pulled off a ridiculous late-game rally to beat the Yankees, and the Cubs officially clinched the NL Central division title Thursday night for the first time in eight years. And there are still 16 games to go in the regular season.
NFL News of the Day
Even though the Bills scored 31 points in their loss to the Jets Thursday night, offensive coordinator Greg Roman was fired Friday, with running backs coach Anthony Lynn set to take his place. During Thursday’s game, quarterback Tyrod Taylor was forced out of the game briefly by referee Ed Hochuli after it appeared Taylor may have suffered a concussion — he was cleared, but we like to see the officials being proactive; better safe than sorry.
Gymnastics News of the Day
Valeri Liukin (two-time Olympic gold medalist, father of 2008 all-around Olympic champion Nastia Liukin, and current USA Gymnastics elite developmental coordinator) has been tapped to take over for Martha Karolyi as Team USA’s national team coordinator. Though he’ll likely still see Martha and her husband Bela a fair amount — national team camps will still take place at the Karolyi ranch.
