Bees from a small selection of the 5,000 hives created this Manuka honey. These 200 individually named Rare Harvest Manuka honey jars are a one-of-a-kind collectible.

Bees in New Zealand gather nectar from the Manuka tree to make Manuka honey. (Leptospermum scoparium). In every corner of New Zealand, you can find a Mnuka shrub.

The scientists at Analytica have independently verified that this genuine New Zealand Manuka honey is an exceptional 1,700+ MGO. The bees produced this honey from a single highly secret block. In the eyes of the UMFHA, that’s an unprecedented UMF 31+.

Each bottle of the Rare Harvest is finished off with a hand-turned lid made from New Zealand native hardwood, which is also used in the creation of a one-of-a-kind honey drizzler with a brass handle. Its white, magnetically closed exterior opens into five sections, each representing one of the five petals of the Manuka blossom, whose delicate white petals cover the isolated New Zealand countryside in spring and summer.

The harsh weather of the 2017 season forced a single windswept, remote Manuka block to produce especially potent nectar, similar to the precious pearl an oyster creates in the face of adversity.

Scientists Believe that while this outcome could be the product of a rare confluence of natural factors, it is not something to be left to chance. To guarantee the quality of our honey from the hive to the jar, we must maintain complete proprietorship and supervision over the entire production process. The well-being of our honeybees is our top priority, as only happy, productive bees can produce the highest quality, honey.

Rare Harvest is an all-natural delicacy as rare and expensive as white truffles or Beluga caviar. Right now, you can get some of the best Manuka honey in the world. It is produced from a solitary source, this Manuka honey boasts the best possible MGO and UMF ratings. This incredible natural phenomenon may never happen again.

What Makes Manuka So Special?

Manuka honey has traditionally been labeled according to the Unique Manuka Factor. The amount of non-peroxide activity in Manuka honey is indicated by this metric, as defined by Dr. Peter Molan himself. The UMF value of Manuka honey was calculated by testing it against a phenolic solution. (The typical scale for UMF ratings goes from 5+ to 24+ or greater.)

Once measured directly, methylglyoxal (MGO), docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), and leptospira are now used in a formula to estimate the UMF. However, the MGO component is the deciding element.

The UMF marking is a symbol of the honey’s strength and a guarantee of its quality since it is the only certification standard currently applicable to Manuka honey. The Unique Manuka Factor Honey Association (UMFHA) launched it in 1998, and it is only distributed to UMFHA licensees. More than a hundred New Zealanders maintain bees as members of the UMFHA.

Processing from hives to bottle

Manuka honey, an uncommon harvest honey made from the nectar of the Manuka bush, is indigenous to New Zealand. To create this uncommon Harvest of Manuka honey, the following procedures must be followed:

  • The uncommon Harvest of Manuka honey begins with the flowering of the Manuka bushes. Manuka trees usually only produce blooms for about two to six weeks during the summer.
  • Honeybees use their long tongues to scoop nectar from Manuka blossoms. To return the nectar to the colony, the bees must store it in their stomachs.
  • The bees return the nectar to the colony, passing it around, regurgitating it to get rid of excess water, and adding enzymes to help break down the sugars.
  • Honeycomb cells are composed of beeswax, and the bees store the nectar that enzymes have converted into these cells.
  • Extracting honey involves meticulously removing honeycomb frames from the hive and then using centrifugal force to extract the honey. The honey goes through a filtering process to get rid of the debris.
  • Methylglyoxal (MGO), a compound found in high concentrations in Manuka honey and accountable for its antibacterial properties, is tested as part of the quality assurance process.
  • After passing stringent quality controls, Manuka honey is bottled in jars and given a special MGO classification. Once finished, it can be sold to customers and relished by end users.

These 1000 jars of the world’s finest Manuka Honey, with the industry’s greatest MGO/UMF rating, are extremely rare and valuable. The Miraq Stores has bottled honey that has an unmatched potency because it is honey harvested from the lush environs of northern New Zealand. Mix a spoonful into a cup of hot water each morning and sip to reap the many health advantages.
