From the reading, Small Pieces by David Weinberger, the internet is the disconnection between real world and web. It can be classify by the cocepts of space, time, self , and knowledge.

For space, any web, such as eBay, is a web space that really not existing; however, its near and far are determined by based on human interest. Human is the one who gets to determine when and how long will participate. For example, as the author, eBay, the participants of auction decide to check the result whenever they have time or whenever they want to.

“Unlike real world, selves, these selves are intermittent and most important, they are written” (Chapter 1). The IDs in the web is the identity of selves, but it can be many as it can be. Also, it can be different from the real world and one person can have several IDs and pretend to be a different person. Lastly, the knowledge can be gained easily and fast. The research tool from the computer can be used, but the voices from the people, like sharing the experiences and the thoughts through the web, have so much informations to gain.

The internet can be a bad thing but it has good sides too. It would be really benefit if we use it wisely.
