What’s good y’all?

If you haven’t had any water today yet — drink some. If you already have — drink some more.

TL;dr — We got a TON of new singles, we got a real look at Kid Cudi’s new Netflix show and we could be getting some documentary type content from Kendrick soon.

Here’s what we published recently:

Can We Keep Betting on the BET Awards? by Kyle Denis

In light of the latest happenings with Lil Nas X but also like all great writers, Kyle called out this situation for what it was awhile back.

HAVE YOU HEARD…

Kid Cudi’s Netflix show Entergalactic has been officially officially revealed. He’s given us teasers for months, shown us a title card/logo and said it would contain new music but now we have even more information. He posted a teaser trailer which showcases an Into The Spiderverse-esque animation style which is a very good and cool thing. The voice cast is incredible including those we know and love from both the music and acting world including Cudi himself of course, 070 Shake, Teyana Taylor, Ty Dolla $ign, Jaden Smith, Keith David, Vanessa Hudgens and more. The show drops on Netflix this fall. Kendrick Lamar appears to have some sort of mini-doc coming that chronicles his time in Ghana. We’ve seen pictures of this visit around the time of the release of his latest album and now we have video. The teaser was posted by Spotify so we’ll have to wait and see how and where they give it to us.

Despite the ongoing situations with his actual music, Roddy Ricch still managed to get a W recently. He was arrested right before his set at Govoner’s Ball Saturday but the charges (weapon charges to be exact) were dropped. Naturally, he led a “F*ck NYPD” chant once he was able to actually hit the stage. In other W news, T-Pain has shared he has made more money gaming than he has in other ways in the past four years. “There are definitely good players out there that make a ton of money, but I think the entertainment that comes from somebody like me being trash at it, that’s just more valuable and more entertaining.” He shared on Steve-O’s Wild Ride podcast. At 845K followers on Twitch, his formula definitely appears to be working.

Lil Nas X has called out the BET Awards for failing to nominate him while nominating other artists who he feels he should be considered before. And he’s exactly right.
