“The entertainment is in the presentation.”– John McTiernan

Creating good art is difficult. It will always be that way. Creating a beautiful story, a painting, a film or any other form of art takes a lot of work. Sometimes the most amount of work won’t be in the creation process, it might be in the practice and preparation. But no matter how great your creation is; when it comes to the monetization part of the game, presentation matters.

Most artists don’t like to admit this fact. It is popularly said that the main focus of an artist should be in the art and not on the pomp and show that is to be put upon its release. But we are not talking about any pomp and show or other unwanted celebration gigs, it’s about the necessary, simple-but-beautiful, garnishing that you should put in when you display your creations.

So, how much time and effort should we spend on presentation?

It’s really not much, because it is not about creating a highly decorated presentation, it’s about creating a really simple one which will allow your art to be at the center of focus. So don’t try to add new things in order to make it more beautiful, instead cut out all the unnecessary things and focus more on arranging the remaining elements in the most beautiful way possible.

Always keep in mind to focus on being simple.

“Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication”– Leonardo da Vinci

It is almost like how you edit your writings. Create the draft and then cut every word that is unnecessary. The point is not in adding more, it is about how well you arrange the most necessary elements.

Also, never put presentation to the top. It always comes second. The top priority should always be for the creation of your artwork.
