Which beach in Puerto Rico is a must-see for your next vacation?

Castillo San Felipe del Moro — San Juan, PR

Puerto Rico is the Island of Enchantment and a Caribbean paradise known for its vibrant culture, exceptional food, and the hundreds of pristine beaches that span its coastline. With nearly 300 beaches to choose from, it can be hard to decide which beaches to include in your travel plans. To help you find the beach most suitable for your next adventure, we have “read” thousands of google reviews, so that you don’t have to!

Editor’s Pick: Flamenco Beach — Culebra, PR

Flamenco is a charming beach located on the island of Culebra off the east coast of Puerto Rico. Ranked as one of the top beaches in the world, Flamenco is known for its white sand and turquoise waters. Catch the ferry in Ceiba, sit back, relax and enjoy the ride. Upon arrival, you can swim with tropical fish, snorkel with sea turtles, play in the sand, or simply be a beach bum. You can also walk down the shoreline to visit Flamenco’s most distinctive landmarks — the rusting carcasses of two M4 Sherman Tanks that were left behind by the United States Navy after their departure from Flamenco Beach in 1975. When you get hungry, you can head toward the nearby food kiosks and get an authentic taste of Puerto Rico. I recommend trying the alcapurrias de jueyes (crab-stuffed fritters) and cooling off with refreshing piña colada.

If this seems like too much to fit into one day, don’t worry! You can even rent a tent and camp on Flamenco Beach to keep the adventure going.

Honorable Mention: Playa Escondida — Fajardo, PR

If you are looking for a tranquil escape into nature, this is the beach for you. Playa Escondida is a secluded oasis located in the eastern region of Fajardo. Park at Seven Seas Beach and embark on a 25-minute hike through the mangroves to reach Playa Escondida. Once there, enjoy a swim in the crystal clear water or snorkel around the reefs to meet the cute beige fish that call this place home. Or, simply take in the view of the nearby mountain peaks as your troubles drift away!

How I Did This

Full disclosure: I love these beaches and have visited them many times, but I wanted to see what everyone else thought about them. That meant going and reading thousands of Google reviews which was not something that I wanted to do. Instead, I used our app and saved myself so much time that I headed back to Flamenco! Here is how I did it.

Step 1: I selected “Understand what customers are saying” because I wanted to understand what travelers have said about beaches in Puerto Rico. Pretty straightforward.
Step 2: I had the dataset ready to go so it was easy to drag and drop the CSV file (up to 10MB, which is a huge CSV, haha).
Step 3: The magic starts to happen here with my uploaded file. I decided to filter my data by each individual beach using a text filter and the beach name.
Step 4: Resultid shows me the themes in my data and lets me expand each theme to delve deeper into the specific feedback. The slider on the right side lets me narrow or widen the focus.
Step 5: What I like on the summary page is the proposed strategy that Resultid has calculated based on my data. I have the generated themes neatly worded in the center of the page with an example data point for each to refer to. I can also “Share” a link so that others can benefit from my review!

Can’t make the trip to Flamenco Beach? We have included the following beaches. Download our dataset and understand what people are saying about beaches by region!

A note on visiting Puerto Rico: While Puerto Rico is a beautiful place to visit, please remember to be respectful of locals and the environment. Many people call this island home and want to preserve its natural beauty for years to come.❤
