Dutch Bros

Being a college student, I love and appreciate student discounts. After almost three years of living in Reno, I have found businesses around town that offer special prices to college students. Below I have listed and described five businesses in Reno that you can visit to save some money.

Getting homework done is far more fun with a Dutch Bros beverage. It is even more fun with a student discount. The extremely popular nationwide chain, Dutch Bros, does its part in supporting college students by offering one dollar off its beverages. When ordering you should remind them you are a student and be prepared to show a form of student identification. Two locations that are relatively close to campus include: 4555 S Virginia Street and 7250 S Virginia Street.

Nirvana Beauty Lounge
Nirvana Beauty Lounge (Instagram account above) is located at 1700 S Virginia Street. Nirvana offers nail, skincare, waxing and lash services. The local salon offers 10% off services to students. All my experiences at Nirvana have been nothing but positive. Getting your nails done is something that most students don’t prioritize in their finances. Nirvana’s discount on a self care luxury is very appreciated in a college student’s life.

Juice Box Yoga

A good way to destress and step away from your studies is by getting movement. Juice Box Yoga offers student discounts on drop-in classes and class cards and passes. Juice Box Yoga has two locations in Reno and one in Sparks: Robb Drive, Sierra Rose Drive and Scheels Drive. They also do occasional “Free College Day” (Instagram post above) for local college students.

Nevada Museum of Art
Whether you are going to study or enjoy art, the Nevada Museum of Art is an amazing way to spend your time in Reno. I personally love going on weekends. I find it a good way to take a break from looking at my screen. Admission is free for University of Nevada, Reno, Truckee Meadows Community College and Nevada High School students with a student ID.

AMC Theaters
Reno has a variety of AMC theaters spread across town. The Century Riverside 12 location is just a ten-minute drive from campus. Going to the movies is a great way to enjoy the weekend or even treat yourself on a weekday. At AMC Theaters you can bring your student ID to the box office and save money on your ticket.

Student discounts are so important because they celebrate and recognize the hard work that students are putting into their education. A degree is not cheap by any means. When businesses acknowledge the importance of students it helps students be able to celebrate themselves.
