WEIRD ALBUMS SERIES ENTRY TWENTY-NINE
Dog Fashion Disco’s ‘Adultery’ is a Twisted and Catchy Concept Album Unlike Any Other
Metal with all the fun and thrill
It’s long overdue.
The Weird Albums Series returns after a three-month hiatus. WAS isn’t my most popular series, but I like writing them. This review focuses on my love for experimental music, and I can’t ask for more.
You may be wondering, “What’s the Weird Albums Series?”
I’m glad you asked.
WAS is a (somewhat) monthly review in which I discuss albums that go beyond typical music structures. This is the twenty-ninth entry. Today’s album is the concept LP Adultery by the metal band Dog Fashion Disco.
In each installment, I explain the album’s background, my thoughts, and its legacy. Then, I rate the album using the Beefheartian Scale. Experimental music enthusiasts invented this rating system to describe albums that resemble Captain Beefheart.
A ten in the rating system means: “Hot damn, that’s weird!”
