Since the beginning of his career, The Weeknd has always made small homages to Michael Jackson, like covering “Dirty Diana” on his early mixtape “Echoes Of Silence.” And it’s not just the voice similarities that the Weeknd channels. It’s also the cinematic music videos he releases and how the once secluded Canadian singer-songwriter has become a massive pop star in his own right.

On his latest album ‘Dawn FM,’ the Weeknd makes Michael Jackson proud with the songs “Sacrifice” and “Out Of Time.” And I don’t think it’s a coincidence that legendary producer Quincy Jones who’s responsible for Jackson’s “Off The Wall,” “Thriller,” and “Bad,” appears in an interlude, specifically between those MJ-esque songs.
