Ian Hunter, former lead singer, guitarist and pianist of Mott the Hoople, admits the pandemic brought together the array of top musicians who contributed to his 13th solo album, Defiance, Part 1. “Basically, it was because of Covid,” says Hunter. “No one would have been around. All these people would have been out touring.”
