Interview With Metaverse Pop Artist Stolengoods
The Virtual Reality musician chats about new single, future projects, and finding love
Whether we like it or not, Virtual Reality is a venture being embarked upon by many people and companies worldwide. In its infancy, we’re wrestling with ethical and health-related issues while still failing to adapt to the novelty of social media.
Our consciousness and attention have never been under this level of duress in our species’ history, but we’re always intrigued and inspired by new technology.
We can’t help ourselves when it comes to dreaming up the next shiny gadget and incorporating it into our culture.
Last month, the first A.I. rapper, FN Meka, was signed to a record deal with the esteemed Capitol Records, only to be dropped immediately for perpetuating racial stereotypes.
If this story isn’t a microcosm of how grossly hyper-novel our modern culture has become, I don’t know what is.
Nonetheless, FN Meka won’t be the last A.I. artist to gain listeners, and as a musician myself, it doesn’t make me feel too hopeful for the future of organic music. However, I’m willing to keep an open mind.
