Is This The Most Scorned Song In Pop/Rock History?

I guess we all make mistakes.

Jefferson Airplane, fronted by Grace Slick and Paul Kantner, was formed in San Francisco in 1965. They were part of the psychedelic rock movement and gave us some great albums and two extraordinary gifts: the singles “Somebody to Love” and “White Rabbit.” The photo is in the Public Domain on Wikimedia Commons.

So, what’s your least favorite song of all time? Pretty hard to answer, right?

I can think of many songs that were stupid or silly.

Like that old game show, “Name That Tune,” you changed the station when you heard the first three notes of a song. You know what was coming.

Off the top of my head, one of the worst pieces of shit was “Seasons in the Sun” by Terry Jacks. Ironically, I liked The Poppy Family. I thought “Where Evil Grows” was one of the coolest songs ever. At the time!

“Beach Baby” comes to mind. What a tragedy that was. I will also throw anything out there by The Osmonds, the white Mormon Jackson Five. Their debut song, “One Bad Apple,” had nothing over The Jackson Five’s debut, “I Want You Back.” And their attempt at hard rock, “Crazy Horses,” was an abomination. (Ironically, “One Bad Apple held the #1 spot for four weeks, while “I Want You Back” only held it for two.)

Oh! Oh! “My Ding-a-Ling” by Chuck Berry. And Sammy Davis, Jr’s “The Candyman.” That song peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100! Deplorable!

But only one song can go down in the annals of rock history as the worst of all time. Rock experts all over the world agree the song…
