Jordan Seven Discusses The Process By Which His Debut Album ‘7’ Materialized
Achieving clarity and focus.
Orlando, Florida-based indie rock singer-songwriter Jordan Seven released his debut album, 7, back in March of this year. The album blends flavors of post-grunge with retro elements from the ’70s and ‘80s.
All the instruments on 7 were played by Jordan Seven, except for the drums, which Chris Moore played.
Seven shares, “People can get caught up in their fears and frustrations and lose sight of the precious things that make life worth living. My songs are a gentle reminder to stay connected to what truly matters.”
Originally from Long Island, NY, Jordan Seven began his career performing in cover bands. Later, responding to the call of his inner muse, he started writing his own songs. Thick, barbed-wire guitars pervade his sound, and, at times, a vocal reediness loosely akin to Axl Rose.
I caught up with Jordan Seven to talk about the inspiration for 7, the evolution of his tone, his guitars, and his creative process.
