JVR Rams: The Producer Combining the ‘World’ & ‘Electronic’ Music Genres

Hulshorst, the Netherlands, 25th of August 2021. In this small village, a new combination of a distinct musical style was created, performed by independent music producer JVR Rams.

JVR Rams is the stage name for 20-year-old Dutchman Jorden van Ramshorst.

Starting in October 2019, JVR Rams began experimenting in the electronic music genre. After 1.5 years of experimentation, a new passion for Electronic music with an Arabic touch emerged for Rams.

The Arabic tinge falls under the ‘World’ music genre. This gave rise to the combination of electronic and world music, according to JVR Rams. The combination of the two genres is special because of the use of traditional instruments such as the Arabic Sitar, in combination with contemporary electronic samples.

JVR Rams produced several singles in this genre which are distributed via Distrokid to the online music streaming platforms. Rams has profiles on music streaming platforms such as Spotify, Tidal, Apple Music, iTunes, Deezer, and YouTube Music.

According to the official website, the music producer has published a total of twenty singles. Of these, eight singles contain a combination of the world and electronic music genres, with the other twelve singles experiments in the electro house genre.

Rams has a total of 600 regular monthly listeners on Spotify. His most popular song is “Summer is Coming All Right (Winter Version),” with over 60,000 streams on Spotify. The producer also keeps in touch with his community through Facebook.

“My music is far from finished. It’s just the beginning, and it’s nice to see that more people are starting to appreciate the music. My focus instrument is the Sitar, it appears in every current song. I think there is a lot of opportunity for this music in the future. Every day, there are new features and online platforms that stimulate the growth of independent music artists.”
