Kanye West: Creatively Incredible, Socially unacceptable, But a Genius All The Same.

Kanye West is perhaps one of the most famous men on earth, known for his creative excellence, but also infamous for his reputation as an unpredictable eccentric, and a man whose temper can be easily triggered. His behaviour towards others and actions on Twitter gain so much traction within the global media that it becomes easy to overlook how incredible he is as a creative, but in reality, when has any creative in history ever been considered the ‘norm’ by society.

Back in 2010, Kanye was in a bad place. In a very short period of time, West went through the death of his mother, split from his partner at the time, and released an electronic break-up album ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy’ that, initially, didn’t sell very well (it’s now considered a classic). During this same timeframe, he’d interrupted Taylor Swift during her MTV Awards acceptance speech and essentially labelled an ‘asshole’ by president Obama. Kanye’s stock was at his lowest, and the world had rejected him.

For a long period after these series of unfortunate events, Kanye considered quitting music. He didn’t. Instead, he relocated to Hawaii, block-booked a suite of recording studios, and invited his favourite artists to come, and make music.
