Paris is love

Oh how I long to be sitting in a café sipping on an allongé

Watching the people go by, the sky white and overcast and dreary

Avenue Ledru Rollin

Where the server knows me

Greets me with a smile as I settle into my normal spot

A book cracked open

And I sit for hours making my way through

Counting the pages but losing the time

French words come alive before me

I am in my element

Journaling

Everything is more meaningful done amongst others

I listen to the sounds of traffic

But mostly get lost in my music

Airpods in

A soundtrack for the action surrounding me

People watching like in a movie

Some strolling, but most marching with determination

Approached by a young man who wants to take my photo

Anything can happen

Take me back

Drop, drop, drop, drop it like it’s hot

Pulling on a little black dress

Talking, chattering

Surrounded by friends

Getting ready for a night out

Blasting our party playlist

Wine bottles and Makeup

Out on the streets

Buzzed

Dance party

A boat on the river Seine

Music pounding

Vibrations

Another drink

And another

The French songs fill the room

I scream along to every word

Messy, sloppy

Drunken bliss

I am a lunatic

Packed, pushed up against strangers

Sweat, the room is spinning

Pulsating

Pumping

Heart thumping

A night to remember
