If you are a fan of Blue-eyed Soul you may already know Paul Carrack.
This story is for those who don’t.

This article grew out of research I was doing for The Wall — Live in Berlin, the phenomenal concert Roger Waters put on in Berlin eight months after the fall of the Berlin Wall. The concert and production were extraordinary; not only because of the logistics of staging it but Roger Waters’ “casting” of various musicians, bands, and actors to perform different parts of the
Pink Floyd's album The Wall couldn’t have been better.

Apart from seeing many musicians perform that I loved, I was introduced to others whose music I didn’t know. One of these was Paul Carrack, the man that the BBC would come to dub “The Man with the Golden Voice”.[1]

Paul Carrack is a singer, songwriter, musician, and composer who was born in Sheffield, England, in 1951. The music publication Record Collector suggests we should know his name. In a 2008 article, they wrote…

“If vocal talent equalled financial success, Paul Carrack would be a bigger name than legends such as Phil Collins or Elton John.”[2]
