There isn’t much information available online about The Shore, a “neo-psychedelic pop” 4-piece rock band from Silver Lake, California.

I was introduced to them about a decade ago, thanks to a Spotify recommendation (Thanks, Spotify!). Their algorithm really gets me most days.

I remember seeing the psychedelic-looking cover for their self-titled debut album and deciding to give them a listen.

I instantly fell in love with their sound, but it doesn’t seem like they ever achieved any level of fame or notoriety to speak of, which is a damn shame.

Influenced by the sounds of classic bands like The Beatles, The Beach Boys, and The Byrds, and heavily leaning towards the sounds of modern groups like Oasis and Richard Ashcroft’s great band The Verve (“Bittersweet Symphony,”) The Shore’s songs can rock and be quite tender at the same time.

Formed sometime around 2002 by front-man and lead singer Ben Ashley, the band has released 3 full-length albums (and one 4-song EP.)

Their first self-titled album is embedded for your listening pleasure below.
