‘The Storyteller: Tales of Life and Music’
by Dave Grohl
Dave Grohl is the GenX poster child for how to earn and hold onto rock ‘n roll success. This book faithfully recounts his hyperactive childhood (loving mother; disapproving father), earning his punk stripes during van tours with Scream, landing the gig with Nirvana and their rapid ascent to superstardom, founding his forever band with Foo Fighters, countless passion projects, and life as a dedicated family man.
Through it all, he has maintained the wide-eyed enthusiasm of a fan (even while hanging around idols like Paul McCartney) and an infectious positivity that might seem saccharin coming from almost anybody else. This book is no sordid Hollywood tell-all, but it is an honest look at a lauded life in music. More info HERE.
