Because I worse at screenshots than I am at writing, this picture was taken by the author at his computer of his Instagram feed where his Spotify Unwrapped got shared fairly easily. Ah well.

Thanks to Kevin Alexander, here’s 2022 Spotify Unwrapped. I was surprised that my top artist didn’t have my most played track out of 1,977 songs I played in 2022. I assume my frequent dips into my extremely long Goldsmith playlist explain the anomaly.

Photo courtesy Spotify. Yes I figured out how to do it. Don’t all applaud at once.

The Milan compilation album Passions & Achievements (A 20-Year Retrospective from Films Of Director Ron Howard) credits all the tracks to Ron Howard, which is kind of unfair to Burt Bacharach (Night Shift), Randy Newman (Parenthood and The Paper), Thomas Newman (Gung Ho), Hans Zimmer (Backdraft), Peter Ivers (Grand Theft Auto), Lee Holdridge (Splash) and James Horner (Cocoon, Willow, Apollo 13 and Ransom — a last-minute replacement for Howard Shore’s rejected score), and some guy called John Williams (Far and Away).

Dancepop and video game music also my genres list in amongst the soundtracks, so here’s Instafest results (done with Spotify). Maybe Taylor Swift or Olivia Rodrigo will crack my Spotify Unwrapped next year.

Lee Holdridge played the role of Ron Howard on November 29.

Lee Holdridge’s love theme for Splash is the version on the Milan album (thanks to the suits the Cherry Tree soundtrack album released with the film in 1984 was a London rerecording of Holdridge’s music. (It was also minus Rita Coolidge’s end title song — Personally I think greengrocers in love with mermaids are more Rita Coolidge’s speed than James Bond).
