While recently looking at a list of celebrities who celebrated birthdays earlier this month, I saw that one of them was actress Alicia Silverstone. According to the list, she turned 47 years old on October 4th. My immediate thoughts after reading that were:

No, that can’t possibly be right, can it? That must be a typo or something!

After all, she was just a teenager when she became famous for starring in music videos for songs by Aerosmith. That wasn’t really all that long ago, was it?

The first two of those videos came out in 1993, and that was only…wait…that was 30 years ago?!?

Yes, it has now been over 30 years since Aerosmith released their Get A Grip album, which contained three songs that were turned into music videos starring Alicia Silverstone. If you were an avid viewer of MTV back then, you knew that you were never going to have to wait very long for the network to air one of them.

Part of the success of the videos was due, of course, to the popularity of Aerosmith, who were still riding very high off of their great success with their 1989 hit album Pump.
