Are you looking for free job posting sites to fill a vacancy? If so, you’re in luck!

Finding candidates is one of the most challenging parts of the recruitment process, but it doesn’t have to be expensive. There are dozens of websites for employers out there that let you post jobs for free.

We’ve collected 14 of the best free job posting sites with over 1 million monthly visits. If you want to find top talent, these sites will help you get the job done.

List of Free Job Posting Sites

Ok, let’s start with the most popular job website and continue with less obvious choices to advertise jobs for free. Happy hunting!

1) Indeed

Meet the leader of the industry. Indeed is THE most popular job posting website in the world! The closest competitors are almost ten times smaller (if we count by monthly visits).

Indeed allows you to post jobs for free, but the terms and the way to do it may change over time.

For example, we’ve found a 4-year-old video called “ How to Post a Free Job on Indeed.com” showing you the Indeed free job posting step-by-step process. But then there are many comments saying this is no longer working.

Luckily one of the most recent comments goes with an updated workaround:

Let us know if this still works in the comments below!

2) Google for Jobs

  • Website: Job Search on Google
  • Popularity: Enormous
  • Free job posting: ✔ Yes
  • Post job URL: Doesn’t work this way — read below

Google is the most popular search engine in the world. It has also become one of the best free job posting sites for employers.

Google displays your jobs for free, and it doesn’t even have advertising options for jobs. But there is a catch. It is not that easy to post a job on Google. Here is why:

Google does not provide you with a form to post your jobs.

Instead, it just indexes your jobs similarly to how it indexes all other pages on the Web. And it’s not enough to have your jobs as pages on your website. Also, you need to provide them with a special code called “ JobPosting structured data “.

Sound complicated, right? But this shouldn’t scare you away. Google is one of the best places to post jobs out there!

Goodmind.io have got you covered!

We’ve created an online service allowing you to post your jobs for free on Google by filling a simple form. We’ll supply your jobs with required “structured data” and push them to Google. It usually takes a couple of days to display your jobs on Google.

3) Facebook

Should we mention Facebook is huge? It allows you not only to chat with friends but also leverage Facebook’s ubiquity for business goals, particularly to hire employees.

Facebook allows you to post jobs for free online. To do this, you must have a company page. So all your jobs will be linked to your company’s page.

If you don’t have a company page yet — it is very easy to create it.

Once you set up your company’s page, go to its Home tab, find the Create Post option, and click the Job button below it. Then you fill in your job’s info.

Also, you can check Facebook’s step-by-step instructions on how to post and manage jobs on Facebook.

LinkedIn is the most popular professional social network in the world. It also has become one of the main tools for recruiters to source job applicants.

4) LinkedIn

We have two pieces of news for you: good and bad!

Good: LinkedIn does allow you to post a job for free online. 🙂

Bad: It lets you have only one LinkedIn free job post at a time. 🙁

If you want to have more than one job posted, you need to go with the “Promoted” option and allocate a budget to advertise your jobs.

LinkedIn uses a pay-per-click model, so you pay not for posting a job but actually for applicants you get for the job.

At least you have an excellent opportunity to post the first job for free and check if the LinkedIn job platform works for you. Happy hunting!

5) Jooble

  • Website: Jooble.org
  • Popularity: 42M monthly visits worldwide (according to Similarweb, data for Nov 2021)
  • Free job posting: ✔ Yes
  • Post job URL: Doesn’t work this way — read below

Jooble seems to be an ordinary job posting website. Why doesn’t it have a form to post jobs?

The catch is that Jooble is not a traditional job board. It is instead a job search engine. It crawls other job boards (including professional job sites) and career pages to populate their massive database of jobs.

And this is partially the reason why Jooble is so popular. As Jooble declares, it is amongst the top-3 largest job websites in the world!

But wait, since there is no form to post a job, how do I push my jobs to Jooble? — you might ask.

As with Google for Jobs, we’ve covered you here. We’ve got a free service allowing you to post your jobs on Jooble by filling a 3-line form — easy peasy.

6) Upwork

Upwork stands out from the whole list. Why? Here is the reason:

Upwork is the largest freelancing platform in the world!

On Upwork, you don’t hire employees. You hire freelancers. You define a task, set the budget, and post a job for free online on Upwork. Then freelancers respond to your job. You can check their portfolio — the jobs they’ve already done on Upwork, their ratings, and the reviews from other employers. So you select the one(s) you liked the most.

Your job can have a fixed budget (e.g., $50 total). Or the job can be ongoing, so you pay a freelancer an hourly rate (e.g., $50 per hour).

If you don’t have a budget for a full-time position yet — Upwork is a great way to get things done!

7) Craigslist

  • Website: Craigslist.org (once you are there, click the Jobs category in the top-right corner)
  • Popularity: Enormous
  • Free job posting: ✔ Yes (outside the U.S.)
  • Post Job URL: post.craigslist.org

If you ever sold or bought used items, like bikes, cellphones, or child car seats, you probably know what Craigslist is.

The great thing is that you can leverage Craigslist to employ new staff for your company. Craigslist is especially effective for blue-collar and non-senior office roles.

There is a catch, though: Craigslist doesn’t offer free job posting in the U.S. and most populous areas of Canada. 🙁

But the great thing is that it is free everywhere else, and actually, the prices for advertising jobs in the U.S. and Canada are very competitive. 🙂 Here is the price breakdown:

  • SF Bay area — $75 per job post
  • NY, LA, Seattle, Denver — $45 per job post
  • Austin, TX — $35
  • Vancouver, Canada — $35 CAD
  • Toronto, Canada — $20 CAD
  • Calgary, Canada — FREE
  • UK, Australia, and all other countries — FREE

Don’t miss a chance to post jobs for free on Craigslist!

8) Talent.com

Talent.com is one of the biggest free job posting sites — 30M monthly visits worldwide, 78+ countries. You can post as many jobs for free as you want. You also may sponsor your jobs to reach as many qualified candidates as possible.

9) Jora

  • Popularity: 5M monthly visits worldwide (according to Similarweb, data for all domains totally, Nov 2021)
  • Free job posting: ✔ Yes
  • Post Job URL
  • UK: www.adzuna.co.uk/jobs/post-an-ad/
  • U.S., Canada, and many other countries: No free job posting option is available on their website. Use our tool instead.

Adzuna is a popular free job board in the UK, U.S., Australia, and other 17 countries.

For some reason, it provides you with a link to post jobs for free only in certain countries, in the UK, for example. Adzuna shows you only the “Advertise” option in many other countries.

12) Ladders

  • Website: TheLadders.com
  • Popularity: 3.1M monthly visits worldwide (according to Similarweb, data for Nov 2021)
  • Free job posting: ✔ Yes (up to 10 per month)
  • Post Job URL: recruit.theladders.com

The Ladders’ logo says “$100K Club”.

What?

Yes, that’s right. You can post jobs here only if you can offer your employees an annual salary of $100K and more. In exchange, you get “highly qualified, highly experienced specialists with real value to offer”.

Therefore Ladders is one of the best places to post jobs to hire executives, engineers, and other highly-paid professionals.

Paid Job Posting Sites with Free Trials

Do you think your job position is so attractive for potential employees that you can grab a bunch of great talents in a couple of days? If so, you can use free trials to advertise jobs for free.

Here’s the deal.

Some popular paid job posting sites offer you paid subscriptions to post jobs instead of paying for each job posting individually or using a pay-per-click model.

Sometimes these subscriptions have a free trial period.

We’ve collected the most popular job posting sites with a free trial period for you.

Precaution: Be aware that free trial periods are very short, in most cases 3–4 days. So please be prepared to cancel the free trial in advance, at least one day before it ends. You can create an event in your calendar for that date. Or just be ready to pay the full price when the free trial ends.

Here is the list of the paid job posting websites with a free trial period:

1) ZipRecruiter

2) Monster

3) Snagajob

Thanks!

This is the end. We hope our list of free job posting websites (or the free trials section) can move the needle in your hiring process and help you hire great talents!

We publish this article at the beginning of 2022, so please let us know in the comments below if you find any inaccuracies or outdated information.
