Monday: Colegio & Cooking Lessons!
This morning our academic classes added intercambio sessions with Spanish students who also were attending Colegio San Felipe Neri. At first a bit awkward, conversation soon flowed and connections were made, as an interchange of culture, customs and understanding ensued as students compared their differences and of course their similarities with their new Spanish friends.
Today rather than go home for la comida with their Spanish families after morning classes, we went directly to FoodieCádiz for professional cooking classes.
Our menu: pan con tomate y jamón, patatas aliñadas, and of course, paella. Our enthusiastic students first reviewed the ingredients tools and techniques that they would need to create their meal, and then chopped, diced, and stirred as their fragrant paella went from raw ingredients to its delicious end. A great time was had by all and the paella was exquisite, and now we will all be ready to make this delicious Spanish classic at home whenever our longing for our stay in Cadiz overtakes us.
