Welcome Home: Ed

This week’s permanent housing success story features Ed, who has lived in a makeshift shelter in the desert for at least a year and a half.

“I don’t think I ever really imagined how rough it would be to be living like that,” Ed said.

Ed was diagnosed with cancer four years ago and found himself unable to work. For the past year, he’s spent a week or more out of every month in the hospital.

A multidisciplinary team worked quickly to get Ed housed and bring him out of the desert.

“I don’t even know how to express my gratitude for everybody that’s been involved,” Ed said. “They helped me a lot.”
