Welcome Home: Kristy

This week’s permanent housing success story features Kristy, who found herself living in a tent after a car accident took her son’s life.

LAHSA Homeless Engagement Team member Scott thanked Kristy for being proactive in her recovery by calling LAHSA and staying on top of things, and in turn, the team provided transportation, brought her food, helped her get her I.D. and Social Security card, and helped connect her with housing.

“It was very emotional,” Kristy said. “I couldn’t stop crying for a good week. Just to be safe again with real walls, it’s an amazing feeling.”

“It made me feel like a human again.”
