Dark red wine in a tall wine flute on a black napkin next to a wooden cutting board with a cheese wheel, a pie slice cut out, adjacent to a knive and bits of herb and cheese. Behind the cutting board is a ceramic tray with a twisted bread stick on it.

Sanctuary

A Poem

Caught like a helpless seagull within the eye of a hurricane,

hypnotized by the white electric calm of domestic synchronicity.

The sedate understated ambiance of birch cabinets

beckoned me to stay and command the familiar
