Is Experience The Best Teacher?

Experience is not our best teacher. Evaluated experience is. If we fail to properly evaluate our past experiences, we’ll probably make the same mistakes again, because most of what we do is based on habit. If we don’t evaluate our experience, we’ll find ourselves stuck in the same patterns that bring the same results.

Evaluating takes time and a brutal commitment to truth. We can’t do this overnight, but we can surely do it, in time. We can learn what works and what doesn't, and we can enjoy the fruit of becoming a better person.
