Copenhagen Diary #11
That was smooth! (It must be the shoes)
What a difference a week can make!
When last week was actually one to forget, today was clearly one of those that make you feel really good, positive about the race and even enjoy it from start to finish.
After an easy start, things just stayed steady all the way until the half-way point and from there I felt like I could easily speed up the pace to later practice my super fast strong finish, going away from the crew and pushing it all until the end of the road. Felt great!
Additional to this, today was THE DAY.
Official welcome to my running arsenal to the Nike Vaporfly 4%, the shoe that not only everyone have been speaking about for the last 10 months or so, that have been really hard to find, that have been present in the majority of the podiums in all major races and that arguably is meant to be the fastest marathon shoe ever created. Yes, that same shoe, and you know what? It’s all true!
After have been looking for it for a while now with no luck, and to a basically accept it was not going to be my Copenhagen shoe, Nike decided to finally release another drop this week (last one was in December) just in time to get a pair, do my very last long run (today) in them, feel very satisfied and excited and get them ready for the starting line in 3 weeks time.
I just can say that the shoe feels amazing, and the advertised features seem to not disappoint, as it not only feels super springy (in a very good way) propelling you forward, but also the foam is very light and responsive, giving this full overall sensation of very enjoyable ride speed machine.
Bring it on Copenhagen. I’m ready!
