Fortnite-ing Again after a long gap

back to Fortnite

Decided to jump back. It’s nice and pleasant, just as it was before.

A few weeks ago, my RTX computer returned from repairs. I decided to upgrade the hard drive, get some extra space and all that. I also have more time to kill now. Decided to do some proper gaming. Installed a bunch of games.

One of them, is Fortnite.

with ray tracing turned on, and at ultra-settings, this game is a bomb.

In my opinion, as a coding tutor and occasional developer, Fortnite is one of the most optimized games in the world. I have run this game on everything from the low-end intel NUC to the Xbox One S to the RTX 3060. The way it scales up and down while still giving playable frame rates is just incredible.

On top of that, the gameplay is smooth and fun. I never had good shooting skills, even when I was a teenager. Now, as I near the age of 40, my shooting skills are much worse.

Yet, there is just enough room for ‘strategic’ gaming in this shooter, that you can frequently find yourself getting a kill or two, surviving till the last round.

what is that?

Then, there are the updates. Every season, there is always something new going on. Some, new color to look. New way to traverse or new character to unlock.

The game is free. Sure, you can spend money if you really want to. I myself, bought the battle pass like 2 years ago. Since then, I have been earning enough V-bucks to keep buying battle pass every season, without spending any actual money.

So, really, it’s cheap and fun.

whoa!

Now, whenever, I want to take quick break and relax my mind, I put in a game or two of Fortnite.

I think, it’s one of the best casual games out there, along with Forza Horizon 5.

I work as a full time freelance coding tutor. Hire me at UpWork or Fiverr or Stack Overflow. My personal website is here. Find more of my art at Behance and Unsplash. Also, I have a Podcast about everyday life. And, a 2nd Podcast, where I talk about freelancing.
