New Beginnings for TacBoard ❤

Starting over. Starting stronger.

Much has changed in the past few months. I’ve learned how truly strong I am. That’s the beautiful thing about creating something with your bare hands– whether it be music, literature, movies (in my case a business). The unforgiving responsibility that comes with a life of creation teaches you to never be complacent.

Complacency kills art. Complacency is the enemy. Complacency brews all sorts of ugliness.

Entrepreneurship is the opposite of complacency. Building a business pushes you to keep moving, to keep failing, to keep ignoring that creeping fear, the uncertainty that comes late at night, “what if I don’t make it…?”.

I, for one, have learned to love the uncertainty that comes with entrepreneurship. I love how it forces me to learn– the mindset shifts, the skills learned. My mother once said to me, “Why are you putting yourself through all of this struggle? Just go to college and get a degree! Your life will be so much more secure.”

I knew then that I didn’t want security. I wanted a life. I wanted to learn as much as I could with the little time that I have. I wanted to build and add value to peoples’ lives, to this place we call our home. And right now, me doing this– this crazy, absurd thing– is allowing me to lead the life I’ve always wanted to live.

Yes, (technically) I may be an unemployed high school grad…

Yes, some days I have absolutely no idea what the hell I’m doing…

Yes, some days I do want to give it all up…

But then there are those other days… The days when I speak to a store owner about my product and see her eyes light up, immediately asking me when it’ll be ready.

Those days make me welcome the uncertainty.

Because in the end, I believe we are put on this Earth to help as many people as we can, to make this place a bit better than it was before we got here.

This is my small way of making a difference.

Disha is the founder and CEO of Savy (previously TacBoard).

Savy is a widget that business owners can install into their stores. It converts window shoppers into paying customers by allowing them to name a price they’re willing to pay for an item they want. Our widget automatically emails these shoppers when their item hits their price. We help the business owners in three major ways: 1) getting them valuable pricing information that’s difficult to obtain, 2) getting window shoppers to engage with their site and 3) getting them the emails of these window shoppers.
