Lesson Twelve — Endings are Brutal
Getting off the Roller Coaster
Affairs have timelines. When you start to get sick, it’s time to get off the roller coaster. If the pit in my stomach is because I don’t want to open your text or see you, it’s over.
I’ve had my share of endings. Some mutual.
This is rare.
My ex-lover was a mutual ending, kinda. He called it quits because of a new pressurized job, and I bowed out. Crying in a parking lot is never easy.
Some not.
Like my ex who pulled the plug on me a year ago. “I decided I’m not going to see you anymore.”
I was shocked to say the least. I blinked back tears driving. It was a miracle I didn’t crash the car that day.
