By H.G. Warrender

I’m the ghost of a girl
Who has wandered the world
Chasing after what seemed to be right
I thought I’d found it one day
And got carried away
And since then I’ve been chasing the light

I’m the ghost of a girl
With my banner unfurled
Struggling to stand my ground and not fall
Once I fell in and drowned
In the lights and the sound
But they always meant nothing at all

I’m the ghost of a girl
A gaunt face framed with curls
I was beautiful or so they say
I thought I could survive
On the fire in my eyes
But I blinked and the fire went away

“Ghost” is a poem adapted from original song lyrics.
