Goat’in’ down to business
When you think of the homesteads and taverns, what comes to
HEART-MIND?
Do you get that feeling of nostalgia for spaces that you’ve never visited or been to, and yet, somehow you know that those are spaces you feel drawn to, have an unknown knowing of, are haunted by (in a good way) and you know that a feeling of peace exists in that space.
I know that feeling.
There’s a word for it…in every language, the one I know best is a Spanish word.
A beautiful word.
A beautiful meaning.
Querencia — — — →(kerr-en-sia in Goat)
I think of Querencia often, because, it is the quintessential instinct of sentients who knowingly or unknowingly seek it in response to the innate desires of self-preservation and the nurturing of well-being.
In Barry Lopez’s The Rediscovery of North America: “Lopez explains that querencia is a place where one feels secure, ‘a place from which one’s strength of character is drawn.’
In Spain, it is the place in the ring where the wounded bull goes to renew his strength and center himself, ready for a fresh charge.

Querencia is a space Scene & Heard wishes to create for the Kid Goats, and the Goat tribe- as it is and as it will be.
It is a virtual and physical space for readers, writers, readers, supporters, guests and family. A space engendering inclusivity to harness well-being through bolts & sparks of artful creativity, a space welcoming to draw the sense of belonging while connecting and engaging with a unique coterie of all who are drawn to and by Scene & Heard. A space or several, where everyone when touched by Scene & Heard, Querencia is evoked.
And so…we created a virtual reading tavern here at the Scene & Heard (on medium), we created a tavern of paper walls and ink-taking the form of an incredible printed journal,
and now I, Goat am announcing quite unofficially, that we have created another reading tavern upon the virtual real-estate of our homestead domain on the internet. We will publish your work online for maximum exposure.

We now also have real Scene & Heard homesteads where we live-work to promote and grow our Scene & Heard.
What does all this mean?
It means that all of us- me-you-they- we have more wires to connect to and recharge by reaching out for each other to express ourselves and take moments of joy from the expressions of others in a purposeful and meaningful way.
It means we attract more people of similar mind and heart, and;
it means that together, a tribe connected through a deep appreciation for human creativity through all art forms, we continue to nurture a special kind of home.
We are well on the way to finding what we seek.
