Life is never predictable.

Try as we might to prevent it, there are times when one’s world turns upside down, is inverted. Shaken. We tumble into the unknown of our circumstance in a dream-like free fall. The answer to how we got there is encoded in the circuit of countless choices and resultant events, people, and places that led us there. It’s like waking up into a dream world of our actual life, not the dream we were living.

Most things that worked before no longer do.
Life changed all of that.

We think we know what makes us happy until what makes us happy changes.

Experiences change us.

What we believe and how we create and interpret our experiences form a veil through which we see ourselves and the world. Sometimes life reaches out and rips that veil off our faces. Sometimes it happens in slow motion and sometimes it happens all at once.

Sometimes we have to accept change to move forward.

Because the old world and ways are outmoded.

Moving forward is growth.

Growth can feel painful.

Growth can feel lonely.

Growth can break your heart. Shatter it. In fact.

Love on the other hand, remains as it always has; in a perpetual state of love. So when the healing begins, the shards of the shattered heart come back together in the magnetizing force of forward movement.

And sometimes we get stronger. We expand. In ways we never knew we could.

Events take place.
Life happens.
Circumstances change.
We change.
I’m moving to Portland.
