Must Our Lives Get Edgy

There is no reason to get worried, now
That my insecurities have taken over and
My eyes fill me up with dreams that do not seduce
happy faces, neither follies.
Only a vague attempt at crossing the raging river at midnight
When all the villages are asleep
And the insects get busy
Pricking the soil, pricking our hearts
For us to feel a little anxious
Until the sun arrives.
