We have the brains and the power!

The Philippine Science High School — Eastern Visayas Campus (PSHS-EVC) Erudites triumphed in the annual Palo Municipal Meet held last September 9, 2016 in San Joaquin Central School.

The Erudites comprised of the boys’ basketball, chess and volleyball division and the girls’ volleyball team battled with the delegates from seven other schools for supremacy.

The girls volleyball team went toe to toe with Palo National High School in the championship round. Engaged in the exchange of spikes and drops in the final set, the game was locked in a stalemate but Palo National High School gained the upperhand, grabbing the victory.

Edged out by last year’s provincial meet qualifying team San Joaquin National High School in the first round, the boys volleyball division rose back up in the second round, as they clobbered Palo National High School, 2–0, for a bronze finish.

It was an uphill battle for the boys basketball team as they squared off with Palo National High School- Pawing Annex in the first elimination round. Thrown to disarray in the last quarter, the team’s play couldn’t connect allowing the lead to slip from their grasp and shift to the opposing team, 26–35.

The Erudites has shown an impressive run in their first Town’s Meet participation. With the lessons learned and insights gained, the team will follow a series of adjustments to improve their team coordination and plays.
