Philippine Science High School — Main Campus (PSHS–MC) was hailed champion at the Econvergence 2023 organized by the University of Philippines Los Baños Economics Society.

This is the fifth year PSHS–MC has held the championship since its first win in 2019.

Two students also emerged victorious after winning awards in their respective categories.

Gia Sansaet (B2024) bested other participants winning first place in the economics quiz bee after scoring 23/25 and ending with a strong lead in the final round.

According to Sansaet, she was speechless after her win as it was her long-term goal to win a competition ever since finding out that PSHS–MC had an economics team.

Sansaet is coached by Sir Vladimir Lopez of the Social Science Unit.

Gian Ibo (B2024) triumphed, winning first place in the digital poster-making category.

An Invictus team composed of Marcus Pascual (B2023), Ali Quintanilla (B2023), and Mathew Serna (B2024) also participated in the debate category.

The team was eliminated in the quarterfinals, failing to defend PSHS–MC’s championship title from last year.

Other participants in Econvergence 2023 were Ezekiel Salazar (B2024) for essay writing, Geni Cauilan (B2024) for traditional poster-making, and Aris Ocania (B2024) for impromptu speaking.

Philippine Science High School — Western Visayas Campus won first runner-up while Philippine Science High School — CALABARZON Region Campus won second runner-up.
