The Scoop: Vol 8. PSFK “Future of Work”; Google Analytics demo account; Owlchemy Labs
PSFK Labs just released their “Future of Work” report called “Cultivating the Next Generation of Leaders”. In this report they dive into the talent and development landscape to identify the conditions and qualities that will cultivate tomorrow’s leaders in the workplace. The full report is $1000, but the free summary presentation is 31 slides and gives you a quick taste of the topics they cover as well as some of the tools/technologies/and employer case studies they’ve aggregated.
One of the challenges with learning Google Analytics has always been having access to an account full of data that’s set up optimally, and without the worry of messing something up. Well, good news; just last week Google announced a new Google Analytics Demo account. This account — filled with actual data from Google’s own merchandise store — let’s you get familiar with the tools and terminology, build dashboards, even schedule reports.

By now we’re all aware of the impact automation is having and will continue to have on the labor market. The projected impact varies depending on who you listen to. Most believe the greatest impact will be felt in transportation, logistics, and administration. However, one company, Owlchemy Labs, imagines a world where robots have replaced all human jobs. Terrifying, I know. But in an effort to preserve the work experience, they created a simulator that helps us “remember how to job”.
