Using Two Free Apps Increased My Daily Word Count By 50%

Like most indie authors, I work a full-time day job. I dream of the day when I can quit and write full time. I could be so much more productive if I had unlimited time to write. Write more. Publish more. Earn more.

Most will never make enough money from writing to afford going full time. That does not mean we can not have more time to write.

When I first started writing I used Google Doc. Although I now use Scrivener for the bulk of my writing, I have kept Docs for one reason — Increased productivity.

When you create or edit in Google Docs, it aromatically syncs across all the platforms you have installed it on.

By installing the free online word processor on my phone, I am able to write from anywhere and have it easily accessible later when I sit down at my desktop. After logging into my Google account, I open the document, highlight any new passages and paste them into Scrivener.

Finally figured out that critical scene in chapter seven, but stuck in line at the bank? No problem. I pull out your phone and jot it down in the Docs app. Later, when I sit at my laptop and open my Google drive, my word are right there…
