I Scaled Up from $500 to $10K per Month Doing This
Here is the step by step process of what I did to increase my income.
Everyone wants to become rich. Is everyone rich? No. Why?
Because everyone is focusing on money.
But what is money?
The outcome of your work. Whatever you do, it converts into money.
And what is your work?
The accumulation of your skills, expertise, and experience in an industry.
The more skilled you are, the more useful you are to the industry.
The more useful you are to the industry, the richer you become.

Can you understand the cycle?
In order to become more useful to the industry, you need to become more skilled. Some people are paid $10 to write 1,000 words and some are paid $1,000 to write 1,000 words.
What is the difference?
The person getting paid $1,000 is more skilled.
So how do you get more skilled?
You get skilled by doing deliberate practice and focusing on improvement. And you will say, “Yeah, I know that. What’s new in this?”
I started from making $500 per month to $10,000 at my agency for writing ad copies. Yeah, the same work. It required the same number of hours, same process, but I gained expertise through regular practice.
Here is step by step process of what I did to grow my skills and increase my income to $10000 per month.
5 steps to grow your skills.
These 5 steps will help you grow your skills and thus you can charge more for your expertise.
1/ Shift your focus:
You are so worried about paying your bills that you keep working the same thing over and over.
Why? Because it pays your bills. No issues with that. But, I want you to shift your focus.
Turn your eye from the money to the quality of the work you do. Every time you start work, I want you to focus on quality rather than the money it brings to the table.
- Compare your previous work with the current work.
- Find out how you can make it better by only 1% from the last project.
- Don’t think about hours but quality.
2/ Skills you need to learn:
You know what skills are required that will mark an upgrade. But you don’t have time to learn.
And your current skills are paying your bills. You are stuck in a loop of helplessness.
You know what to do but can’t do it due to some excuse. Kill the excuse right now.
- List the skills that you need to learn for an upgrade.
- Fix a time to learn those skills.
- Be consistent, even only for 30 minutes a day for learning.
3/ Find mentors:
No, I am not asking you to buy a course. You can find inspiration in your field. There are experts out there who post content for free on YouTube, blog posts, and books.
Dedicate time for learning from your inspiration. Don’t blindly follow them but study them. What they do and how they do it.
- Make a list of your inspiration.
- Make a YouTube playlist to help improve your skills.
- Read some books on the topic.
4/ Be Brave:
Don’t get scared to try something new. People who don’t improve usually get comfortable with their existing process and don’t dare to experiment. Challenge yourself to go beyond your comfort zone.
- Come up with some interesting ideas. Whenever you get an idea, note it.
- Don’t fear rejection. Try your thing and if it does not work, there is always a next Sunday.
- Figure out how you can do the same thing differently.
5/ Get feedback:
You are the first person to give feedback on your progress. Ask yourself if you have put in the effort that was required. Be dead honest.
Get feedback from clients, friends, family, and your audience (if you are on social media).
- Have a weekly session with yourself and reflect on your progress.
- Post your work on social media and ask for feedback.
- Ask your client for feedback and how you can improve.
Finally
Gaining expertise and skills takes time. You won’t notice it in the beginning, and you need to be patient. Keep your head down and work until the work starts working on you.
You must have read the bamboo tree story. When you plant a bamboo seed, you won’t see the plant grow for many years. But under the ground, its roots are growing strong. After a few years, the bamboo suddenly grows very tall, very fast.
A quick recap of 5 steps to grow your skills:
1. Shift your focus: From money to quality of work.
2. Make a list of skills you need to learn for growth.
3. Find your mentors and study them.
