“If you don’t stand your ground, then all that happens is people push you back” — Dr Jordan B Peterson

The world is hard and full of hardships all of which plan to push us back. For instance, the world isn’t all sunshine and roses. It is a mean and hard place to live in. What’s more, if we are foreign to this world, like all life is, then we have to learn to balance our relationship with the world (which isn’t going so well). But, perhaps that is another problem for another time.

So, who is Dr Jordan B. Peterson …

• A Canadian clinical psychologist, professor emeritus at the University of Toronto, author, and media commentator. • Rose to prominence in the late 2010s due to his views on cultural and political issues. • Known for his books “12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos” and “Beyond Order: 12 More Rules for Life,” which became international bestsellers. • Hosts “The Jordan B. Peterson Podcast,” where he discusses a wide range of topics, including psychology, philosophy, religion, and current ev

This is what I found from Dr Jordan B. Peterson's words …

The world is hard because we are human and we seem to make problems for each other.

Yet, even so, we like to design a better world for us to live in. So how does this hurt us? Well, like most things, human concepts are not natural, they are deep in human greed. Let’s say if someone didn’t want to cook food, they would use someone to do it for them, this is a common thing we see at restaurants.

Yet, what happens when 100 people want to do that at the same restaurant at the same time, this causes suffering for the chef who now has to stress about making 100 meals. There is competition too.

What happens when there is another chef who can make your meal better, or if that meal is cheaper or made in another fashion? Well, now that chef must make the best meal to his capacity and also serve 100 people at a time. Even more stress…

So, the world isn’t what it looks like and it’s hard to keep a firm grounding, Jordan is right, if you don’t stand firm in life, it’ll push you backwards. So, it’s important to know that nothing is what it seems.

Even this blog post, dedicated to unravelling the true nature of reality to solve mental health isn’t what it may seem.

To me, it may be a source of income, a way to expand my philosophical thinking and even to make myself into something. But what then? Does it matter? I suppose not, but it’s important to know the context of why something may happen to prepare for a possible blowback.

Let’s say I want money to buy a new TV. So I got a job flipping burgers. That sounds great on paper! Yet, how many people want this burger that I now flip? Hundreds, thousands — all of a sudden, anger, tears and violence. What I’m saying is, know your ground, what will this lead to?

Understand the risks and don’t let the world push you backwards, as the past is backward and that gets us nowhere. It is in the future that we grow into what we yearn to be. What brings forth our calling? Stay strong and stand strong. Know a great wind is coming.
