The idea behind the project

Music is a universal language. It transcends all barriers, bridges the divide and brings everyone together.

But, when I think about it. Music itself is divided. Over various styles, genres, traditions, regions. Music has evolved separately in different parts of the worlds, making up all the different styles, traditions and genres of music. And even with the mutual isolation, what makes it universal is that music from across the world is fundamentally the same; an expression of the human condition, thoughts, feelings and emotions.

In this evolution, there have been scientific, cultural, artistic and social contributions to music. It is my endeavour to delve into these facets of music through different projects, experiments and blog posts. And in the process encouraging people to get involved and build a community of music enthusiasts promoting education and most importantly, curiosity.

I am most fascinated by the science behind music and the contribution of science to music and I think this would be a great starting point for the project.

This is my attempt at understanding Music better. To study the evolution of music, as an art form and as a science. To bring together people to go along in this journey with me. To celebrate learning and promoting curiosity.
