Don’t Let Community of Christ’s Brittany Mangelson Mislead You — Despite Things She Told The Salt Lake Tribune, CofC Pastors Are Paid

The following quotes are found in an article about Community of Christ Pastor Brittany Mangelson, from The Salt Lake Tribune’s Tamarra Kemsley:

“Mangelson is receiving part-time compensation due to this particular role’s demanding nature.

“‘Given how much we’ve grown,’ the new pastor said, ‘it really is a full-time job.’”

Glassdoor, Salary.com and PayScale say that CofC pastors/ministers are paid. I also know this to be true based on having been integrated into CofC and even a member of it. (I’ve since resigned.) The immediate preceding four Salt Lake CofC pastors before Mangelson also were paid. (Those four were Robin Linkhart, Seth Bryant, Blair White and Carla Long.)

It would be more surprising if Mangelson wasn’t paid.
