On Dec. 29, 2016, one member of a famous 360-member group had the courage to speak out.

The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square, then known as the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, agreed to sing at the United States presidential inauguration of Donald Trump. Critics said that Trump, America’s president again, was a threat to American democracy as the executive branch. Opposing the choir’s decision to perform for Trump, choir member Jan Chamberlin resigned on her birthday from the choir. It’s the Trump inauguration anniversary of that.
