A Hundred Year Cold War 1945 — 2045?

We all pretty much know a little about the two world wars that engulfed the whole world in conflict because nation-states had colonized the globe under the rubric of Empire, which is termed Imperialism. Lenin wrote much on Imperialism. A shame that President Putin seems not to have read any of his works although he uses his name to justify the invasion of Ukraine. It is reminiscent of that other President a few years ago — feels like a lifetime — on the opposite side of the now quickly freezing Wall. He didn't read. Period.

Every major European country had a colony or colonies somewhere in the world and when they went to war in Europe this was then mirrored everywhere where ever their national flags were hoisted around the globe.

In WWII this still applied. Yet, Germany’s Imperialistic ambitions under the Third Reich also included creating Lebensraum in Europe. The push eastwards was to create exactly this. After the extermination of the Jewish people, it would then have been the Slavic peoples and then the indigenous peoples of Africa. Millions would have been murdered. Perhaps in billions, eventually. But what have we witnessed in Europe since 1945? A Cold War that could have killed billions. There has been no peace. It is an illusion. La Grande Illusion? For there were proxy ideological…
