If you ever find yourself in a position where you need to create a tutorial or record a conference for later use, you can create a screen recording and capture sound on your iPad using the following steps:

  1. Under Settings, navigate to Control Center, then add Screen Recording.

2. To open Control Center, swipe down from the top-right corner of the screen. Tap the Screen Recording button, then wait for the three-second countdown.

3. To also capture external sounds, swipe into Command Center, long press the Screen Recording button, and tap to toggle the Microphone On.

When you long press the Screen Recording button, you are also given the option to broadcast directly on a Google Hangouts or Zoom meeting (if you have these applications installed).

4. To stop recording, re-open Control Center, tap the Selected Screen Recording button or the red status bar at the top of the screen, and select Stop. Your screen recording will automatically be saved under Photos.

Happy screen-casting!
